When males croak, how loud is it? In a previous post, members indicated my frog could be a male. I was asked if I heard croaking and I replied that in my 3 years I haven't heard croaking. Tonight I heard something that might be croaking. The throat bobbed and the body moved in a rhythmic manner. It looked like croaking to me but the noise was very soft. If it was croaking, would it be so obvious that I would know it? Like a bullfrog sound? If my frog croaks softly perhaps that's why I haven't noticed it the past few years.
How often do frogs croak? Daily? Nightly? Seasonally? Any environmental factors that trigger the croaking sounds? Thanks in advance.
Ken
My frogs croak when the weather is about to change. Mr. Green can be heard outside. He is very loud. Kermit and Bugys are fairly loud, but if the tv is on it might get missed. Patch, croaks very softly.

My smallest retf croaks when it rains. He is not super loud, but you can definitely hear it when in the same room with him. Bad part is, he stops if he hears me.

Thanks for the input Jimifrog and Heather. Jimifrog, thanks for the video link. I couldn't hear the frog croaking very loud because of the running water. I gues that is one of your quieter croakers. I'll have to listen for my frog a little more. I'm beginning to believe I have a male after thinking it was a female all along.
Awesome!
