Hey guys. Alot of you know my Pacman Frog, Cody. I haven't at all "for sure" sexed Cody, I've just kind of assumed it was a "he". Anyways, I was cleaning out his tank yesterday. I had to take him out of the tank. While I was picking him up he made a noise, like a faint duck-quack. I can't really explain it any better than that. I'm trying to figure out whether that was a general Pacman Frog noise (that could also be made by females), or if that was the unmounting call that males make. I know the description of the froggie call is vague, but does anyone have any thoughts as to what that might have been?
Thanks!

Despite what it says in books and what some people claim, females can make noises. They are not mute. They can make popping/clicking sounds as well as a sort of growl. The duck sound I am unsure of. I've heard Grif growl once and it didn't quite sound like a duck. You may want to PM Jessica of Ivory Reptiles and see what she says. I do know that some male calls have a sort of a honk more than a duck. Loki doesn't sound like a duck its more of a high pitched sound. Hard to describe.
My little Tank makes little popping sounds when I unbury him and out him in his water dish. I think he forgets about that shortly after though, as he is munching on a nightcrawler!![]()
Yeah, I knew that females can make noises. I just wasn't sure what kind of noise this was.
My tree frog females make a noise exactly like you describe and its alway when another frog is climbing over them or touching them. It's not at all a distressed sound, its more like "geez man your in my space"..lol
Lol! My little pac Chomper makes a squeak like noise if I startle her.

:-p lol at all the different sounds they can make! Mine kinda groans like a Zombie if you wake him up when he's burried, I guess some people make that noise when they've been woken up too!
Lol!!!!![]()
