Manzanita Wood in Terrariums?

Hey guys!

The pet store I work at had some nice large branches of manzanita laying around for sale. Well, they have been here loooong before I started working here, and I was wondering if they would work well in a humid setting (aka my frog tank)? I am getting tired of the bendable branches that I have purchased from Hagen as there is too much unused space in the middle of the tank.

This is the best picture (showing what we have) that I have found on the internet of the ones I am looking at. I know I would need to do some trimming in order to fit them into my tank...

Just wondering if they would work...

They should be fine. The ones in the picture don't look like they would support the weight of a frog though...

Manzanita is awesome. It is strong, dense and holds up extremely well under wet and humid conditions. The listing you linked to could work, but if you're in the market for more than one piece, check out Manzanita Burlworks. At that price, they have a much better selection.

I think it would fill up my tank nicely. There is too much of a gap in the middle. I am glad that it will hold up in humid conditions. I had read that it held up well in high humidity...Just wanted to run it by someone who has actually used it in a tank.

I know the pieces look thin, but with the actual branches that I have at work, I think they will hold up under the weight of two White's Tree Frogs.

Yes, they should be able to support the weight of the frogs, but it doesn't look like the top branches are wide enough for a White's to rest its body comfortably. Not a huge deal, but personally, I would look for something with a wider and more stable resting surface.
