I have been trying to find gray tree frogs for a while and I was wondering what some good ways to find them are. If anyone with experience could give me some succesful ways of attracting them to yards and some SPECIFIC places to look within their habitat (woods and breeding ponds) I would appreciate it. They are aubundant in the neighborhood and we already have tons of fowlers toad who live in the yard.
I have been leaving on the porch lights at night and leaving out a container cover that collects a bunch of water. Will this work out in bringing them to the yard?
Not sure if it worked but attached is a picture of a baby I raised last summer

Please consider raising your tree frog from tadpole, to froglet to frog. It is a rewarding experience, and one that could change your thinking about the world; more so than removing an adult from the wild. You will see your future friend morph, losing its tail, growing legs, taking its first breathe when its gills close on that dramatic day. Having a container of rain water or distilled water will attract the adults. No tap water - it will kill them. I live in the suburbs, far from any pond and discovered my tads in a water trough filled with rainwater. Today, I have several frogs that are a year old and I love them dearly, more so had I taken them as full adults from the wild. It sounds like you are already in the right location. Patience. It will happen.
Thanks, and yes, I do plan to raise tadpoles this spring as well. The babies are simply very difficult to care for. I did not plan on keeping any adults I find, only observing them.
