Looking at the baby micro frog how does this frog survive, and what is small enough for that little guy to eat?
Nice catch, must have great eyesight to see something that smallIt is amazing a frog could be so small.

These frogs eat springtails, mites and ticks.

There are a lot of tiny insects small enough for them to feed on.
Beetles, Diptera, Acarina and Collembola are sometimes less then 1mm in size.
If there wasn't enough to feed on, this species wouldn't have developed in first place![]()
You'd be surprised how tiny both bany frogs/toads can be. We are raising tadpoles that would have died in a puddle that dried up after we removed them, which is why we brought them home. Fruit flies are too small for them so we have to skim the grass for aphids and gnats. They are doing well. They are approx 5 mm right now.
