Default Lichen and moss covered branches...how to clean/santize??

I collected some beautiful lichen covered branches yesterday. Want to sanitize them without killing the lichen. Can I bake it in the oven, or just soak it in clear de-chlor water? The lichen is soooo pretty I don't want to wreck it.

I don't know the type of branch. Is it maybe not worth the risk? I can always use the branches for something else I suppose. Just want to be safe. They were collected from a park so no chemical stuff should be present. I just want to make sure there's no weird fungal stuff. Suggestions?

    Toni,
    Careful!
You might consider making a glass terrarium to enjoy what you have collected; leaving your red eye in a safer environment.
You risk introducing "unwanted" buggers ; especially from a park that could have been sprayed for mosquito control!

There are beautiful jars you can purchase to create a terrarium!

I figured as much. I'm a floral designer so I can always use them in an arrangement or a plants-only terrarium, like you suggested. I was just wondering if there was a way to make it work.

I wasn't going to put them in the red eye tank. Tulip and Snap are finally comfortable, I don't want to make any more changes. I'm building a larger tank now, for a White's if I can find one. Taking my time with it.

Thanks for the feedback Lynn, I appreciate it.

I am curious about this as well, as there is a pond right behind my home and there is a lot of moss covering some of the rocks, and I want to use them in my current build.
