My grey tree frog, Scout seems to drink the water when I mist him. He opens his mouth really quick about 4 times and only when I am misting him. My other grey doesn't do this and I've heard that frogs drink through their skin so I thought this was quite odd. He sometimes soaks in the dish as well. Please someone tell me what the heck my silly little frog is doing! ;p
I have never seen this behavior in my grey's before. I look forward to seeing what explanations people provide on this.
Mine do this... mainly Frodo but on occasion Sam. I just thought they recognize me as food giver and open it hoping its more food lol
Mine do that! They open theyr mouth with theyr tongue out for a split second when I spray them!!!
Mine usually do it straight after iv fed them
All four of mine do this. My thought is the feeling of the mist might trigger an eating instinct since it may feel like tiny legs or moth wings fluttering.

Almost surely they're trying to eat. A couple of mine do it at the first shot of the mister then they usually smarten up and don't bother again. Until the next time I mist that is.
They'll also sometimes go for water droplets if I water a high up plant and it's dripping. Anything moving that fits in their mouths is fair game as food.
I'm glad to hear that other's do this so I know it's not abnormal. I think you guys are right though and that they are just trying to eat it. Mine eat fairly but almost always eat when they see a cricket! Thanks guys!
