Hi so with me getting my new frog Shandy, Relatives have wanted to see him (didn't expect people to be interested in him) via skype.
So I have, i showed my grandma and granddad via skype, all went well. Then last night when i went to show my cousin i moved my hand while he was sat there so i could get him near the webcam and i'm guessing it was pee but he shot liquid 3 times all down my arm. Was this self defence though out of the 3-4 times i have handled him (feeding, stopping from falling of the slippery wall etc) he has never done that. Though after doing it he stayed calm and still sat in the same position and when i went to put him back he began crawling up my arm
Thanks in advance
My Grey Tree Frog Frodo, has peed on my husband many times when he has tried to hold him and once peed when my husband was close to the glass. Frodo doesn't like being touched and I think gets stressed. Greys urine is toxic so I thinking defense mechanism with him.
But I am not overly familiar with Whites so unsure if this is the same situation. Sorry I know not much help.
Many frogs (especially toads) will pee when you pick them up. I do believe it is a self defense thing, as they tend to stop doing that as they get more adjusted to you and being handled. My cane toad pees all over me every single time I try to handle her.
