I have a grey tree frog my kids found back in June. I don't know if its a male or a female. I have been waiting to here him/her maybe make noise, but I have'nt my kids said they heard him/her making noise one morning but i'm not so sure. In resent weeks it's chin looks a little bigger so I'm thinking it maybe a male, but if so why isn't he croaking much? Is he unhappy? He also has never changed his color... I have attached a picture hopefully someone can help me figure this out![]()
Your frog looks pretty large...I'm thinking female, just from eyeballing the picture.
My male frog was ALWAYS gray, always always always. And in his last 4 years of life, he never croaked once. I'm think that was due to the constant temperature in my house. He never knew to hibernate. so he never knew it was breeding season and thus never croaked. My current female goes from Geico gecko green to almost black. Some frogs just dislike changing colors.
To guess at gender:
1. Look at the frogs chin. GENERALLY females have almost pure white chins while males have speckled ones, almost like a beard.
2. how long is your frog, legs and all? My male was about 3.5" and my current female is pushing 5". Females are always bigger, longer, and fatter.
I have a frog. She's fat and green. Her name is Gertrude, because she is fat and green.
