Hey guys,
had my ornate a while now and had a few problems but have ironed them all out with time and perseverancethe only one that is really bothering me is he hasn't eaten in a while and it looks like he's really struggling to have a poo. he used to eat all the time (when he was younger) and i kind of expected him to slow down at some point , its worrying me a bit as its been a while since he's eaten or pooed. he doesn't look unhealthy at all i was just wondering whats the longest a frog can go without a meal?
thanks guys and girls

sounds like impaction, but we gotta see the whole picture to be able to help you properly.
Save one animal and it doesn't change the world, but it surely changes the world for that one animal!
There's not really a set time for how long they can go without eating. They can drastically alter their metabolisms depending on conditions. Basically, if the frog doesn't look like it's losing weight (after peeing; they can hold enough water to make them look morbidly obese) then you don't need to worry about forcefeeding. Just keep a close eye out in case anything else looks off.
Like Lija said, this sounds like impaction. But until he poops, don't feed as this will make the problem worse. Also, soak him in lukewarm water with 3-4 drops of honey. This won't hurt anything if it happens to not be impaction, and it'll help him go to the bathroom if it is.
Last winter, my fantasy frog didn't eat for about 2 months straight. He didn't seem to lose any weight and temps and humidity were fine. Then one day, he started up again and all was good...
