While waiting on my daughter at the orthodontist the other day I was leafing through a magazine with pictures of South Dakota in it.
Many of the forest shots from the Black Hills area show this long moss like growth hanging from the trees. This is what it looks like:http://roadtrip2008blog.files.wordpr...7/img_3176.jpg
It is too far north to be the famous Spanish moss of the American south which looks like this:http://www.askextension.org/images/spanishmoss.jpg
I have been unable to identify it. I would like to do so as I think my Hyla chrysoscelis would very much enjoy hiding and climbing about on it.
Watching FrogTV because it is better when someone else has to maintain the enclosure!
Hi SludgeMunkey, I certainly is a gorgeous Moss. I have a hanging Moss (Alpine Tree Moss) in my enclosures at the moment that I'm trying out its not as thick and lush as your one but I have only put in a little. Actually mine looks like your Spanish moss but curlier. There is also a guy here that sells all sorts of moss who i get mine from www.magicmoss.co.nz it shows a small variety of mossesI love to have mosses in my enclosures and it does well.
You've got me flummoxed I'm afraid.
