Help guys I set my tank up yesterday and today the humidity is 90 it's for whites tree frogs is that ok
That is way to high for a Whites. WTFs like a humidity around 70%. At 90% you are making a environment that has a high probability for a respitory problems/infection. Try to get it to drop about 20% and you should be in good shape.
Also if you are using the cheap dial type humidity guage you may want to get a 2nd reading from a different device. The dial guages have a high tendency to give a bad read out.
I set my tank up yesterday and its an Exo terra one the gauge
And I don't know how to lower it
so is it a digital guage then? Did you soak everything down after setting it up? If so try letting it dry out a little and see if the humidity drops. Do you have any of the top of the tank covered? If so maybe uncover some of the top and see if you can get the humidity to drop.
Do you have the frogs in there already? If not open the door to the tank for a bit to help it dry up a little.

Erm no it's a analogue one
I would try to get another guage (digital recommended) and make sure the other one is reading right. You may be trying to trouble shoot an issue that is not there. with the analog guages if they get water in them at all they can give wrong readings and will stay that way till they dry out and sometimes they never work right again.
If you can post a picture of the enclosure this may help us help you!
do you have any of the screen exposed on the top? Is the soil wet, moist, or dry?
Also its hard to tell but do you have moss in there? If so remove it right away. Its a big No No with tree frogs.

My moss is wet and I have taken the too off
I've got the humidity at 80 is that ok
Ok so keep the moss out. Whites are VERY aggressive eaters. They dive for food and if the ingest some of the moss it has a very high probability of causing impaction. Impaction can be fatal and if not fatal it can be expensive. Trust me I learned this one the hard way. If you want to cover the coco fiber to keep things a little cleaner I use Leaf Litter from Josh's Frogs, it helps hold the moisture in the coco fiber longer.
80% is better but I would shoot for the 70s. 80% is the threshold of where bacteria easily grows. Mid 70s would be my target zone personally. I have found that my Whites are most active with humidity at 68-73%.
Keep working at it, you are almost there!
The pet shop told me to put the moss in
Don't listen to them on that one. The risk is too high! Not worth the little froggies life! If you have questions ask them here on the forums. Lots of very smart people here who own and care for frogs cause we love them! We are not trying to sell them, we just want whats best for them so they can live a healthy and good lives!
Erm I have not got the frog yet I'm getting it tomorrow
I am happy you are here trying to get things polished and working before you get the little guy.
Also the other thing that we did not hit was temps. With a Whites you want a daytime temp of 75-78 and a night time temp of about 73-75 degrees.
With lights set them on a 12 hour on and a 12 hour off schedule. The easiest way to do this is with a timer, you can generally find the simple ones for pretty cheap.
I also wanted to make you are aware that with frogs when you are feeding them crickets you want to make sure that the length of the cricket does not exceed the space between the frogs eyes. Anything that is bigger then that has a high risk of impaction.
I hope these couple tips will help you out. And if you have questions please feel free to ask. There are no stupid questions! We are all here to help each other out!

Hello again kieron,
Here is a great care sheet for the care of whites. It's super helpful.
http://www.frogforum.net/content/whi...-caerulea-121/
As far as substrate, the others are right. Get the moss out before your new guy goes in. Moss is bad news... you can use unbleached or white paper towels dampened with dechlorinated water while you're new lil guy is in "quarantine " . Then after about a month of making sure your little guy is eating and pooping ok, you can change the papertowels to another substrate such as ecoearth (coco fiber).
Post pics of the terrarium and new frog as soon as you get him/her.
Good luck!
