    Default Obtaining Pacific Tree Frogs

I am from the So. California area. Am interested in obtaining Pacific Tree Frogs or tadpoles which are indigenous to my area. Want to give them a happy and safe home in my man-made creek. I realize it'snot the norm re. this particular type of frog, but does anyone out there raise them? I am extremely saddened... I'm afraid I've lost the one I had as it's been completely silent the past 2 nights. There's no reply to my calling him w/my frog caller either. He always goes bezerk when I call him. My original plan was to get him some little friends to vocally and 'otherwise' interact with so I'd have a creek FULL of these little guysl!!! Now there's complete silence. I LOVED MY FROG SO VERY MUCH.

Can anyone help me obtain more? I can not and will not purchase 'tree' frogs from a reptilian store that are NOT indigenous to this area for the purpose of releasing them as we all know it's illegally messes w/our eco system. Don't want to do THAT.

    ANYONE?

    Hi there
I really appreciate your love for these frogs but if you are planning to get these frogs for a pet, always look to see if there are any captive bred, taking an animal out of its wild habitat and forcing it to be a pet is not a nice feeling . but if you do plan to get chorus frogs, get them as tadpoles, that way when they are frogs, they will get use to captivity. keep a 10 gallon tank for a pair of frogs and you can keep about 20 tadpoles in a 10 gallon, feed them boiled lettuce NO ICEBERG! after boiling, freeze and then thaw out and let the tadpoles feast! once the tadpoles get their front legs, you want to get them in more shallow water and some land. once the frogs go out of water you will need either pinheads or flightless friut flies, care for the frogs applies to green treefrogs.
    Hope this helps!!

Thank you kindly for your reply. Firstly, I would NEVER ask anyone for a frog they found in the wild. Didn't ask that. If you look at my original message, I asked if anyone 'raised them;' I will use your term now.... 'captive bred.' Wish to add frogs to my large man-made creek. The one that existed out there is no longer. He stopped calling. Something happened and I'm saddened. Looking for someone local who raises them to bring more to the creek.

Hi Bob.! Thanx for the feedback. Just happened to be on-line. No worries. You didn't force anything on me. You perhaps misunderstood my needs. Found somebody who breeds these little guys that are indigenous to my area. Been speaking w/him 'bout bringing me some froglets so that I can give them a happy and fruitful life. Hah! I say fruitful, cuz he's going to teach me how to supply fruit flies. This will be interesting!!!
Yes... We all know it's cruel to take something out of the wild and keep for pet. Never done that.
Thanx so much again. You take care.
