Hey I know that tree frogs aren't aquatic and some can even drown in water, but I also know that some can move around or barely swim (red eyes) soo it would be cool if we can make a list of swimming/nonswimming tree frogs
also, can clown tree frogs drown?
Look at where they lay their eggs. If it's directly in the water, like Hyla versicolor and other north american natives, you can be sure the species has some ability to navigate water or they would probably all have drowned trying to reproduce.
Not laying eggs directly in water doesn't guarantee the frog is a landlubber though
I had some Grey Tree Frog babies drowned while the others didn't. But now since my male is older(8 months) he has a pool that is deep enough where he can sit in it. (he is a bad swimmer) but not deep enough so he won't drown.
i can attest that white's can swim and swim extremely well. so can mossy's. most frogs will be ok provided you do not have a strong current to their water, and you provide easy exit points.
