What's the best/easiest way to make an aquarium divider? I'd buy one but I need it now and nowhere near here sells them.
I want to temporarily split a tank into 2 to separate some tiny newly morphed froglets from some larger froglets that finished morphing a few weeks ago. I'm separating them so that the larger ones don't try to eat the smaller ones. The two halves of the aquarium will be sharing a heater and a filter so the water will need to be able to pass through the divider. It will only be temporary so I don't want to silicone anything to the glass (plus I don't have time to wait for silicone to dry).
My plan so far is to use needlepoint canvas providing the holes are small enough, but I can't work out what would be the best way to secure it in place and make sure no little froglets can squeeze through the sides or underneath. Any ideas?
Thanks.

Welcome to the forum.
I don't know if the UK has the same kind of shops here in the US
But I would walk around a craft/hobby store a bit and look and see what you can find.
I think that you might be spot on about using the needle point canvas but that that might degrade when wet.
I think your best bet would be something bought from the web.
Try amazon.com they do ship to other countries.
I have a VPN to the UK
so I found this
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Aquarium-Div...uarium+divider
At 9 quid with free shipping I think that this a good deal.
Cheers from across the big pond.
Hello Gemma! Not sure if you can find something made of inert plastic at craft store that could be used as a frame for nedle point canvas. Then could use a couple rocks to prop it vertically.
Another option would be a visit to hardware store and get some window screen kit or buy the frame and plastic screen separately. Try and find the aquarium divider (Lee and Penn Plax make them); depending on tank size it might be your lower cost option. Good luck!
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog!
