    Default Breeding Amazon Milk Frogs

Next summer I'm going to attempt to breed my milkies. It looks like I have two males and a female based on their current size differences.
I've pretty much figured everything out except how to construct a rain chamber. I hear they aren't completely necessary, but I would really like for this to be successful so it's something I'm very interested in.
Those of you that have built rain chambers, how did you do it? Right now I'm looking into buying an Exo Terra Monsoon Rainfall Misting System. It looks well built, and for the price it had better be lol.

Also, who here has experience breeding these frogs? They have a reputation for being difficult to breed, while other accounts I've read had theirs breed with little to no effort put forth.

My rain chamber consisted of a water pump with a hose that ran to a pvc spray bar. I used the finest drill bit and just went to town on the pvc. I used silicone to cap the end of the bar since I had it on hand. My next one will be a frame of pvc then just a single bar.

I tried breeding red eyes back in 1998. but I didnt take any pics of it. Sorry. it was as basic as you can get. gravel bottom, spathiphyllum for the plant. and a power head on a cheap, radio shack timer.

NOTE ON THEY MISTING SYSTEM..... If you have hard water the misters will clog and not work...you will need to de-clog the misters with CLR or something of that nature....please make sure those decontaminated when you put them back. I really do wish you luck on this... i will be breeding them as well this year.

RAIN CHAMBER... use PVC piping... connect the pieces to surround the tank on the outer edges and one down the middle.... Drill holes in them. You can use a water pump ... or use a 2 stage canister filter.... If you use a water pump make sure there is nothing thick in the water that will clog the holes of the PVC piping.... if you use a canister filter you wont have to worry about that. I mounted mine with suctions cups... =P

go for a nice, adjustable pond pump and pvc pipe. forget the monsoon, those things are garbage. there should be some posts in the viv section on how to build a rain chamber, it's pretty basic stuff.
