So i am sorta newbie when it come to American Toads and i was wondering if the water dish has to be big enough for it to swim around or can i just have one big enough for it to bathe in. It is an adult but not sure what sex. Thanks
Toads don't swim particularly well, so just get one just deep enough for it to wade it; like half toad's height.
+1
The fake rock dishes that are made for "food" dishes work great for phibs that can't swim well, nice and wide but with low edges that are easy to get in and out of

Ok thank you so much
Hello and welcome to FF! Something like this with low edges will work fine: Exo Terra : Feeding Dish.
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog!
Thanks i have figured something out for now till i get a water dish tommorow.
