Has anyone fed thier frogs pink maggots? I tried a search and came up with very few answers. No clear answers.
So, is the dyed dangerous? I got a box of blue bottle pupae and maggots. Sometimes the lady I buy my pupae from runs out so she will send maggots to fill the order. Shes an excellant seller.
I fed afew of the maggots to my firebellies before it hit me they might be bad with the dye.I hope I havent killed my new froggies!
Any answer would be most appreciated!
Good question?
What are they dyed with?
They could be fed something that changes their natural color?
What species of "maggot" (insect larva) we discussing ?

Theyb are blue bottle maggots.
Only reason someone would dye maggots is to improve them as fish bait. I know we can't use dyed bait earthworms for frogs; so by deduction if dye is the same, would recommend not use dyed maggots as frog food unless dye is identified as safe.
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog!
Thank you.
