First off, buy a ticket to the US, travel down to North Carolina located on the east coast and bring him to me!! I'm SOOOOO jealous of you. Their care is similar to most other toads so the toad care sheet here will help you on your set up, but I'm still thinking he should come to America.

Congrats on your toad, can find some information about the toads natural habitat in here: AmphibiaWeb - Bufo japonicus. Also, here is our basic ground toad care article: Frog Forum - Toad Basics - Keeping ground-dwelling Toads. A care sheet for Bufo, Anaxyrus, Spea, Scaphiopus, Ollotis, Alytes, Pelobates. Good luck !
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog !
