Tom is my tomato frog i have had him almost two weeks now. When i first got him he was always burying himself under the soul with just his head showing.
Now he stays on top of the soil all the time.sometimes in the morning i find him flattened out, so im assuming he is relaxed.
Is this normal for him not to bury himself anymore and just hand out and not hide? I just want to make sure this is normal because it has me a little concerned that he isnt digging himself under the soil.
He is healthy and eats great, big bright eyes, he gets misted on through out the day....so maybe hee is just comfortable in his new habitat???
Right?![]()
Tomato frogs will bury themselves if they feel uncomfortable for the first few days they are acquired.
My Tomato frog Bob buried himself so well the first day i got him i thought he escaped! But tomato frogs
wont bury as often once they have acclimated into their new environment. But if he isnt hiding, provide areas he
can bury under like some cork or half logs. But it could be very serious if there is no progress.
What are the dimensions of the tank? temps? humidity? etc...

For a Tomato frog, would provide same care as for a Pacman; but changing the humidity to 80% and the temperature to 70-75F (lower range for babies). Only way to determine if all is good in enclosure is for you to answer below questions. Thank you!
