I cannot get my crickets to lay eggs....They are mature and chirping away....but no eggs
I have it consistantly about 85 degrees in the room, and I have a dirt thingy that is moist and covered with screen so they don't eat the eggs. I put in lots of eggcarton and cardboard for them to hid in, and I feed them cheerios, carrot, fish food, and a water gel. I've been trying for months, yet no baby crickets!! any tips?

Have never cultured crickets Lisa; but maybe this can be of help: Frog Forum - Culturing Crickets - Care and Breeding of the Common House Cricket.
Remember to take care of the enclosure and it will take care of your frog!
Thanks - this is the article I used to set up oringinally....I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong

Lisa I breed crickets from time to time, I put a couple of males and a few females in a large jar with about an inch of sand as a substrate, and keep them with a little dry food and hide areas then let them get on with it, after they lay you can see the eggs around the edge of the jar which I keep in the warmest room in the house which we call the airing cupboard which usually has the hot water storage cylinder in. works OK for me. I find the adults often die soon after laying the eggs so the dead ones. The problem I have is getting the hatchlings out of the soiled jar into a more manageable container.
all times but one I had babies when I keep part of the substrate moist.
How moist is your moist? I've had cricket babies come out of dry coco fiber substrates with no problems except harvesting them off one by one with a spoon.
Hey Lisa,
you might want to sign up for my Free 5 week mini course on raising crickets. I've been raising bugs commercially for over 20 years I'd love to help you out. Just send me a message.
Good luck!

Great news! Good luck with your crickets.
Inikkiy I've only just had my first successful batch of baby crickets hatch a couple of weeks ago. I removed the tub of dirt after 10/12 days, and put it into a separate tub and spread it around the floor of the (baby tub). But I was told that maintaining that same temp was crucial, so I used a heat mat n thermostat. I also gave the dirt a spray everyday to keep it moist. Then within a fortnight the first babies were hatched n jumping around.
I learnt how to go about it from watching a few Utube vids.
I hope this helps mate, it worked for me.
Fil...
I saw that video too...I keep my hatchlings VERY CLEAN so I never spread the eggs on the floor of the cage.
