Hey guys! It's been a while since I've been on here--college life is super busy. I'm now preparing to tackle my vivarium that's been sitting around untouched for far too long. I had some initial issues with it.
I foamed, then carved the foam to create detail, then siliconed. Water inevitably made it's way through the foam--which I later learned from Bill, is because I broke the seal when I carved into the foam. Piles and piles of silicone did not solve this issue.
I am now preparing to carve out the outer layers of foam and silicone to reconstruct and waterproof the island. I Initially planned on just adding more foam, but I want to keep the detail I have made. As I now know, I can't carve into the foam. I was wondering if painting drylok on the outside of the foam will solve my waterproofing issue (remember, there is no outer skin to the foam due to carving). Question, will the drylok successfully adhere to the "skin-less" foam? And will it properly waterproof. Also, will silicone then properly adhere to the drylok?
Thanks for any help you guys can provide, you're all so helpful!

Also, will it properly adhere to cured silicone? I guess I'm wondering what it will/will not properly stick to.
