Healing tree frog cuts

Hi I have 11 tree frogs a mix of 3 species. Reciently my juvenile magnificent tree frogs started to get a pile of cuts and scratches on them, one has a bit mark on its head frog another one, another has scratches from jumping into the top of the tank and another today got a whole bunch of a scratches and cuts on its back from I don't know what and am still looking for.

Now with my older frogs when they got scratchs and cuts and people toldme not to worry about it it will all heal up but to put something like betadine on to help. Never once with my 11 frogs has any cut healed they have all scared and slowly fade. Im looking for something to use on recent cuts and scratches that will actually stop scaring and help it heal. Something that I also done have to take them to a vet to get just for them to freak out on the way there and cut them selves more.

It could be infected...so the vet is the best thing to do.
Remove the frog to a QT tank.

Regarding this behavior of constantly of constantly trying to get out, jumping at, or pushing against the screen.
It very well may be..... exactly that....... 'trying to get out' It's stressed.

If you are housing your 3 species together, may I respectively suggest you separate them and house one species per enclosure.

All 3 species are in diffrent tanks, feeding them more has helped with them not jumping into the tip of the tank. But the scratches they have got recently have not been from that buy something sharp in there tank that I'm going to have a good look for today.

I'm also buying another big vine for then to hide in as we as a magnetic ledge and cave as my whites love them.

I also put betadine on to help prevent infection and to treat any infection if there is any. But it doesn't appear infected.

Poor Mag frog! I wish we could get Litoria splendida here... Do you have something like an antibacterial ointment (WITHOUT pain killer)? That might be more soothing to his skin than Betadine, which could be drying. Is your enclosure longer than tall? these guys need height.

I use original Neosporin (no pain killer) I swear that stuff is like magic for froggies!

I can have a look at Neisporin. There tanks of 2ft long and 2ft high. When they are fully grown I have a 3ft tall x 2ft x 2ft tank that houses 4 whites and they will share that tank with then. By then they will be more chill and shouldn't have any problems with the whites, there will be enough spots of all the frogs in the tank to sit as it would have 2 caves, 2 ledges and lots of vines and plants.

What's the difference between Neosporin and betadine for frogs?

Would neosprin be better for healing the cuts? If so I'd it a cream or liqued and how would I apply it. Thanks

The neosporin is an ointment that comes in a little tube (it's also available as a spray, but I'd be worried about using that because you can't control the application as well). Just be sure to get the original ointment NOT the kind with painkillers in it.

Ok thanks. I hope to clears up the cuts. Another mag and green tree frog have got more scrapes / cuts on them. I have no idea from what I have checked both tanks multiple times. The mags there is a few things that could of done it buy the placement and length of the cuts doesn't make sense. In the whites/greens tank I can't find 1 thing that would cause a cut let alone a 1.5cm one repeated 3 times next to each other.

Avoid the betadine. Use bacitracin ointment without pain killers.

I will look for bacitracin in a chemist or I will ask them what's our equivalent to neosporin. Until then I will continue to use very diluted betadine.

Also with the cuts are black ones deep of just a bit off the skin? Or a light ones that look a bit white deep or just a bit off the skin? Also if it scares do they go brown?

If you have black or purple anything it COULD be bruising... for the other, don't know. Redness and weeping usually indicates infection for most creatures with infected skin wounds, but with frogs blotchy skin or dark marks can mean a problem too. If they start acting lethargic or don't want to eat you're going to need to seek the advice of a veterinarian. Might look into doing a skin swab and testing for infectious disease. :/

Have you checked the hides to see if they are smooth on the inside or have broken or rough spots in the material? Have detailed pics of the hides and decor in the tanks?

Does anyone know what could be causing long cuts close to each other? Every night for the past week including last night the mags have been getting lots of long cuts close to each other. I have checked for sharp edges removed logs that could be causing it, pulled the vines further down from the top of the tank but they are still getting it. I was thinking fighting maybey? They have cuts on the top of there heads and legs, all long ones close to each other. Really bugging me now as all frogs are now covered in lots of scratches that knowing my luck will scare and will never go away.

Do you have pics of the tank and the decor you've been using? What kind of top is on the tank? Hard to give a reply when we can't see what's going on, so pics, or even better a video (put it on YouTube and post link here) would be great!
