My 6 year old pacman just came up after winter nap, and I noticed a strange white spot on her back.
I have never seen anything like this before in all the years I have owned her.
It doesn't seem to be some kind of lump or abscess, just the skin is white.
is this some kind of fungal infection?
Sorry the picture isn't the greatest.
Assuming it is fungus, what can I do to prevent this kind of thing from happening? I've had the frog 6 years and I am not doing anything differently, so I don't know how she got this?
The climate is about 70 to 80% humidity. Temps now are low of 75 and high 83. I usually change the substrate every 5 months. Its a pretty big tank and she only sits in one corner. So I make sure to mix it up every few weeks.
I took her to the vet and she looked at the spot. She does not believe it to be fungus, seems more like loss of pigment. It has not grown in 2 weeks so I am monitoring it. She recommended I keep on eye on it and if there are any changes can try taking a sample but I am trying not to stress the her out.
