Hi All... Just registered and this is my first post. I have a few questions for those that know. I have 4 baby Giant pixies. Im keeping them on the moss and not coconut, is that alright? Also, I just feed them some crickets and I saw one of them ingest some of it, is that ok? I have many, many more but, ill start with these.
Thanks in Advance,
Roman
If you are worried about impaction while your frogs are on the moss, you can always feed them in a seperate bin. I use a basic rubber maid container as a feeding bin. This allows me to make sure they are eating all food items given to them, as well as do maintenance on their tanks without the risk of them mistaking my hands for a tasty morsel of food.
The only problem with babies on moss is that, baby pyxies, as you know, are very aggressive eaters. So most likely at some point one will end up getting moss in their system. If the quantity of moss builds up inside the frog then you'll have a dead frog on your hands. Best to use coco fiber.

Thanks guys, I switched my little ones to coconut fiber. also, as an update, the one I saw eat Sphagnum moss took a huge **** today. It did it as it was eating a roach... must have needed the room LOLSo, avoided an impaction and, with the coconut no in place, shouldn't have to worry anymore. Again thanks!
