Anyone else have a REALLY OLD pacman frog?

Hi all,

I'm new here, but after all these years and seemingly no reports of really old pacman frogs, I had to come some place to ask if anybody else has a frog that's lived so long. My frog, AncientOne or A-1 for short, is about to have her 23rd birthday. That's right, 23 years old. Everything I keep reading says that the oldest one ever to live is 12 years old, which is why we started calling her AncientOne when she was 12.

Does anyone else have a pacman frog older than 20? 25? Older? Just wondering with awe how long this little critter is gonna keep on...

Amazing job on your part. Do you have any pictures of your frog? What type of setup do you have yours in and what kind of food do you use? Do you let it sleep/estivate/burmate?

Anyone who can keep a frog alive for that long needs to pass along some knowledge to the rest of us! I am only 1 year into my pyxie and not even a couple months into my ornate pacman. I hope I get lives half as long as you have. Great job! Post some pictures, if you can!

I just stumbled onto your thread, Do you have any pics of your frog? Or some info and advice? My guy is only about 3months old. Congrats on such a long-lived critter.

I'm not even going to waste time telling you how old my frogs are,stumbling in to this thread.lol But ill tell you this much. You guys are doing something right. You guys with the seniors, i take my hat off to you and your skills. Any info will be appreciated. BTW who has the 30+ senior. I would love to see them.

I know of one that i read about Named Sumo at the Manchester Zoo in England that is 30 years old and still healthy. Its a male and very large. Sumo is as wide as the Guy who was holding him's head. Very large Ornate male.

We should all come together and send mass emails to petco or petsmart telling them they run a childish operation. Mostly for the reptiles/amphibians, they seem to do ok with dogs/cats/birds...

I COMPLETELY agree. They don't know anything about Herps.

I would have to agree also. Whenever I go for crickets they ask me questions about them and I am just learning myself. That's pretty scary. They also told me I could put a chameleon in with my RETF. Good thing I didn't or my baby would have been a snack .

Yeah we could negotiate a duopoly with Petco or Petsmart, preferably Petco. They seem to be a little more popular in consumer demand. Run a split commission program training 101 amphibian professionals here to the save the day.

I can't stand how little they know at pet stores. They should have experts on hand in the herp department. It also makes me really mad that the vet offices that are in the Petsmarts don't treat reptiles and amphibians. If you sell the animal then your vet office should be able to treat them.
